Here is an update for May 30th regarding the Tommy Lakes wildfire attached with latest perimeter map.
The weather yesterday helped the crews with their efforts and there was little growth on the fire. By the end of the day, there was one spot outside the perimeter on the northern end of the fire. This morning an air tanker request was put in for this area a pre-cautionary measure. The fire behaviour was at a rank 2 which is a low vigorous surface fire. Bucketing helicopters and heavy equipment are working in this area on the northwest flank. Currently the fire is mapped at 22,659ha. Resources are: 190 firefighters, 9 helicopters and 20 pieces of heavy equipment.
