With regards to the Stoddart Creek Fire, BRFN Leadership has decided we will not take any chances and an Evacuation Order has been enacted for the community of Blueberry River First Nations.
Please take your bags, your pets, your valuables and things that mean the most to you. Please go to the North Peace Arena to check in and then make your way to the Ramada (Northern Grand) or the Pomeroy Hotel and await further instructions regarding the fire and returning to the community.
BC Wildfire has set up a staging area at the school as well assistance from the McKenzie Fire Department. They are here to secure structures and set up a sprinkler system in the community. FNES will join them tomorrow to take over and further assist with more equipment.
Whomever is still here in community, please pull “debris” away from your homes. Debris being defined as lawn chairs, tables, tents etc. anything that can ignite should embers start traveling into the community.
